3 Days from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – M’hamid
From Marrakech early in the morning, you start your journey to cross the High Atlas Mountains (Tizi-n-Tichka at 2260mt high). 30 Km before reaching Ouarzazate you stop for a visit to the Kasbah of Ait-Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. After lunch in Ouarzazate, a 4 hours drive will take you through the famous Draa Valley. On the way, you visit Tamgrout, the ancient Koranic library and the village of green pottery and ceramic. At the end of the day you reach M’hamid where you spend the night in a camp. (Possibility to spend the night in a hotel).
After breakfast, pick up on camels’back and a 3 hours ride to Wadi Naam oasis where you will get some rest and refresh over lunch. In the afternoon, a 4×4 will drive you to the bivouac of Erg Chegaga where you will experience the real nomadic life in the sand dunes. At night you’ll sleep in traditional Berber tents under the starry sky.
DAY 3:
After breakfast, back to Marrakech via M’hamid by 4×4.
